Funding sources

The International Hemogloobinopathy Research Network (INHERENT) is coordinated by Prof Marina Kleanthous and Dr Petros Kountouris (Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics, Nicosia, Cyprus).

INHERENT is co-financed by both public and private funds to facilitate the gathering and processing of data and the realisation of the international genome-wide association study (GWAS). Some INHERENT partners are financed by institutional/national initiatives.

Pharmaceutical companies will not be granted access to any personal data that allows patient identification. Data shared with pharmaceutical companies will follow the same established policies for the transfer of data to other third parties, such as researchers or patient advocacy groups.
